Please see Miranda's instructions below and an agenda and follow-up email with the link to the materials are also attached. I wanted to send one email with all of the information so review carefully! Thanks Miranda for getting this all worked out. Topics covered will include: * System Overview and Function Policy Update; * Academic Programs and Related Policies; * Accreditation, Admission and Student Related Policies; and * Teacher Education Policies. The workshop will be in the form of a webinar. In the next few days, we will send an email with a website address and further information on how to get to the webinar. The website will have the URL for the webinar, the policy manual, the procedures handbook, and additional resource information. You will be able to log in to the webinar from your office or a conference room. Once you go to the webinar link you will have to download the Codec software onto your machine to be able to view the webinar. Additionally, the State Regents equipment is not compatible with Mac or Apple machines. Log in information will be provided along with the other materials. Additionally, if you would like to attend the policy workshop in person, there will be limited space available for that purpose. The webinar will take place in the Regents Conference Room - State Regents' office and the space will be first come first serve. If you plan to attend in person, you MUST respond to this email and let us know. There is a limit of two people per campus who may attend in person, since space is so limited. There is no charge for this workshop nor is there any registration, we only ask that you respond and let us know if you plan to attend in person or who the two attendees will be from your campus. The preliminary agenda for the meeting is attached. Please print and bring any handouts from the website that you will need, as there will be only copies of the agenda available at the workshop. If you have questions regarding the workshop, please contact Miranda Outon at (405) 225-9150 or mouton at osrhe.edu or Gina Wekke at (405) 225-9142 or e-mail gwekke at osrhe.edu . Thank you! Hope this information is helpful. Best, Libby When students report they have been convicted of a felony on the application for admission to Oklahoma State University, we send their application information to the Student Conduct Office for admission clearance. Please see below for additional information provided by our Student Conduct Office. We generally don't grant clearance to people still in prison or people on active/current suspension from other schools. Other than that, it's case by case. We examine past behavior and things that have happened since to get a sense of whether or not they would pose any safety danger to the campus. If clearance is granted, the applicant is generally not allowed to live in on-campus housing because we have what the law calls a "special relationship" with people we are in a landlord-tenant situation with. Other restrictions are rare, but we have used a few in the past (e.g. Can't major in primary education if you have a history of sex offenses against kids, university probation if you have a history of repeated offenses, computer network restrictions if you have a history of computer related crimes, etc.). There is an OSRHE policy on this I could send you next week, but it doesn't have much specific information. 3.9.10 OSU accepts both the official AP scores and those reported on high school transcripts. However, the credit does not show up as "earned" or transcribed on their official OSU transcript until the student has earned 12 credit hours at OSU. I am trying to find it in the OSRHE policy, but cannot. Our registrar asked me for input. Thanks! Troy Troy Milligan Director, Institutional Research Redlands Community College 1300 S. As you recall, a committee of internal staff crafted the first draft of the policy and subsequently, the Council on Instruction (COI) Academic Programs Committee began revisions in Spring 2009 and worked on the policy draft until Spring 2011. Overall, the result includes incorporating the Associate in Applied Science programs, clarifying and updating program review requirements, and providing clear guidance to State System institutions that include the following: * Adding and updating definitions for external and internal review teams; * Strengthening Program Review Criteria; * Expanding sections pertaining to the review of certification programs embedded in associate degree programs; * Establishing the parameters of low-producing programs - formerly an administrative procedure and developing a process for external review and criteria for continuation of low-producing programs; and * Outlining and clarification of Program Review Reports. This policy is effective beginning with the Fall 2011 semester. Additionally, an important component of the policy implementation includes the development of procedures for the Academic Affairs Procedures Handbook. The COI Academic Affairs Procedures Handbook committee will begin work on this document in Fall 2011. In the interim, any question about implementation of this policy will be referred to the Academic Affairs Division. The new policy has been posted to the OSRHE website and is available at: http://www.okhighered.org/state-system/policy-procedures/part3.shtml If you have questions concerning this action, please contact Ms. Stephanie Beauchamp, Director of Academic Programs at (405) 225-9399. Cheers, Jos? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.onenet.net/pipermail/oacrao-l/attachments/20110726/9bccc6b2/attachment.html
