[Oacrao-l] Two questions for you

Good morning!
We just changed our grade change policy as we have a dean who will okay anything - I spend a lot of time in the Provost's office with requests from this dean that I am fighting. As a result of his constantly wanting to be "the nice guy" (which translates to ignoring policy), our new policy is no grade change is processed until it goes through our Vice Provost. She signs off on any change other than that of an incomplete to a final grade. And she is extremely tough. She would deny this grade change. Our gpa is not frozen on graduation so it could have been changed, but with our new policy it would not be allowed.
We do print diplomas in-house and our printer is an HP 5200N which allows printing up to an 11X14. They probably don't even make these anymore! We bought it in 2008. Our paper is printed off campus and I think Staples is currently doing it, but David I've put in a call to our Student Affairs office as the paper comes out of the commencement budget. I'll let you know for sure who we're using (nice since it's in town!). The paper comes to us with a gold embossed seal on it, and the HP printer handles printing on it very well.
Ginna

Subject: [Oacrao-l] Two questions for you

Greetings, all. Hopefully everyone has recovered from the food coma brought on by the turkey and all that goes with it!

Question #1: We have a student who graduated in spring 2011 who took a class for a gender neutral grade in their final semester. She received a NP and now the professor department chair and college dean have approved an change from the NP to a P. Would you change the grade even though the degree has been awarded?

Question #2: I have asked this before but seem to have lost the history on this. Can those of you who print your diplomas in house tell me the model of the printer that you use. Also, for those of you who have your diploma paper stock printed off site, would you mind sharing who does that for you.

Thanks for the input!

David
