Hello OACRAO members, I hope my correspondence finds you doing well. Recently I received a question regarding the English curricular requirement for college admission. As you know, the requirement is four units of high school English [grammar, composition, or literature], but the question is specific to those English language learners that may complete ELL English I and II, but complete regular English III and IV the last two years in high school.

If a student presents a high school transcript with ELL English I and II and regular English III and IV, would you consider the student having satisfied the English curricular requirements for the purpose of admission? If not, under what condition is the student admitted, provided the student meets the performance requirements?

I look forward to receiving your feedback.

Cheers,
José
