[Oacrao-l] ACT/SAT Course Credit

Stephanie,
We do not award credit based on ACT/SAT scores, but we do allow a student to place higher based on those scores.  If a student has a 26/27 ACT or SAT equivalent, we allow a student to bypass College Algebra and move directly into Trig.  If a student does not wish to do this, we recommend the CLEP exam.  If a student has a 28-36, we allow a student to move directly into Calculus I.  Again, if the student does not wish to do this, we recommend the CLEP.  I had a student recently who had a 29 in math.  Her desired major was English.  I had her take the CLEP.

Since it's Monday afternoon following Spring Break, I'll try to throw out an easy question.

Do your institutions accept ACT/SAT scores for credit, provided that the scores are at a prescribed level?  Do you award these credits in math, English, and/or other academic areas?
