[Oacrao-l] Summer courses

Hello Everyone!

Hope all is well.  OU has moved to online classes for Summer.  Copied below from our website.  We will be charging our online fee for asynchronous but not for synchronous.

All summer classes that have been traditionally offered in-person will now be available by either a video conference or online format. Video conference classes are delivered synchronously, meaning they will meet during the scheduled class time using video conference software such as Zoom<http://www.ou.edu/learnanywhere/instructional-technology/zoom>. Online classes are delivered asynchronously, meaning they will not meet at a specific time, but will instead require you to submit assignments and projects by specific due dates, usually via Canvas<http://www.ou.edu/learnanywhere/instructional-technology/canvas>.

I hope everyone is well and doing the best we can in these crazy times. I have a couple quick questions on summer school.


  1.  Has your school made any decisions on teaching summer courses?  Will they be all online?

·   We have not officially made the decision but I think it will become official any day that all courses will be taught online.



  1.  If you have moved all summer courses to online, are you reclassifying the courses to an online course? Charging online fees?

·   It’s so late in the game.  It would be hard to do this. If the faculty are moving to synchronous teaching for their courses because of COVID-19, do we have to change the status?

This is our big question right now.
