Sharon,
The trust does factor into the investments on the FAFSA, there's an
example of your situation in the 2006-2007 Application & Verification
Guide, Chapter 2 page 21.

Subject: [Oasfaa] Trust Funds
Can anyone tell me how your school handles trust funds? When a parent
is a beneficiary of a trust fund and the interest has been accumulating
but not paid out, does the parent report the interest under investments
on the FAFSA?
Thanks,
Sharon Newton
