POSITION DESCRIPTION
KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY
Student Financial Assistance
Position: Assistant Director of Student Financial Assistance – Technology
(Search Extended)
Position Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing computer/IT support as well as
pro-active, technological leadership within K-State’s Office of Student
Financial Assistance.
Position will:
* Play vital role in the design and testing of student aid business
processes as the university migrates to Oracle Corporation’s Campus Solutions
(PeopleSoft) student system.
* Create and support the creation of data queries for automated
processes and ad hoc business data analysis.
* Provide/coordinate end user IT training.
* Manage office’s PC hardware/software support and upgrades, including
supervision of technical student employees.
* Serve as the office’s liaison with on- and off-campus IT entities
* Support/enhance the office’s document imaging system (ImageNow).
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information
Systems or related field. Candidate should have familiarity with relational
database structure; experience with web-based ERP system, preferably in a
Higher Education setting. Experience in customer support and web design
required, preferably in a university or college setting. Candidate should possess
knowledge of analyzing data and creating reports. A strong ability to
translate business process into technology needs. Knowledge of HTML, XML, PHP and
JavaScript; experience with web editing tools such as DreamWeaver a plus.
Strong communication skills.
