[Oasfaa] Membership Dues

All, as OASFAA Treasurer this year, I have been charged with the responsibility to coordinate our new membership policy.  I have sent emails out to FA directors and lender representatives with the attached information, but my list of contacts may very well be incomplete.  If you did not receive an email from me but are interested in OASFAA membership, please use the attached information to proceed with the process.

For points of clarification, unfortunately, OASFAA cannot accept credit card payments for membership payments.  A check is the only form of payment that the organization can accept.  In requesting checks for this, I have had several schools request W9s, as their business offices need that information.  If you need a W9, just email or call me and I will get one to you.

Greetings!

If you were at the OASFAA Conference in April and attended the Business Meeting on Friday morning, hopefully you recall that the members approved a new membership policy for OASFAA beginning July 1, 2009 for the 2009-2010 year.  If you were not at the meeting, or perhaps have not yet become involved in the activities sponsored by the Oklahoma Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, now is a perfect time to learn about OASFAA and all that we do as an association.  If you are new to the idea of OASFAA, you can check out our website at http://www.oasfaaok.com/index.php.  If you are not signed up for the OASFAA electronic mailing list, you can find subscription instructions at http://www.oasfaaok.com/mailingList.php.

As you will see from the attached letter, OASFAA has changed its membership policies, effective for July 1.  As OASFAA's Treasurer for the 2009-2010 year, I am now in the process of gathering membership information and dues payment information.  Once you have read through the letter and, if necessary, checked out the website, if you still have questions, please feel free to contact me.

Nancy Moats, Financial Aid Director at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, is OASFAA's President for the 2009-2010 year. If you would like to email the completed application to me and mail the payment separately, that will be fine, or you can send a paper version of the application through the mail, with the check, whichever is more convenient for you.

Remember to pay your $100 institutional membership dues as soon as possible.  You will identify one person as the voting delegate for your institution.  The ballots for electing officers for 2010-2011 will go out to designated voting members in February or March so that the election results can be announced at the Spring Conference in April.

If you are interested in running for an office or know someone who is, please contact Andrew Hammontree, ahammontree at francistuttle.edu<mailto:ahammontree at francistuttle.edu>  or me.  To run for office, your school must be an OASFAA member.
