Mary,
The regs only state a signature is needed, it does not specify what type of signature. If all other seems legitimate, the digital signature should not be a problem.

We have received an IVW on a student who has digitally signed. It has the following:
The student’s first name
The statement: Digitally signed by Patrick, DN: cn+ Patrick, o=OSU, ou=OSU, email (student’s school e-mail), c=US and then is date stamped (date, time, seconds).
Does anyone know offhand what the regulations say about accepting this as a signature on a IVW?
Thanks,
Mary Lou Bledsoe
