[Oasfaa] OTAG Deadline

This is a reminder that Friday, April 9th, is the date by which all
institutions participating in the OTAG program must have submitted their
final spring semester award claims.  As stated in the OTAG Timelines and
Procedures for 2009-2010, requests for exceptions due to extraordinary
circumstances may be granted upon approval of the Chancellor for Higher
Education and the availability of funds.  All requests must be submitted
in writing by the president or chief executive officer of the
institution.

If you need a pre-populated OTAG Award Claim Form, please send e-mail to

Please do not use a report that is more than a week old.  We download
ISIR data daily, and using an older report could cause ISIR transaction
and EFC exceptions that will need to be resolved before the report can
be processed.

We appreciate your assistance in delivering OTAG funds to Oklahoma's
students, and we appreciate your cooperation in finalizing your spring
OTAG award claims and disbursements as expeditiously as possible. Please
return the final disbursement reports as soon as possible. Please
contact our office if you have questions or need assistance with the
OTAG award claim process.  

Attached for your information is a spreadsheet that compares 2009-2010
award commitments with final 2008-2009 awards and expenditures for each
institution.

Also, as some of you may know, Section 407 of the Higher Education
Opportunity Act requires that states notify students that grants such as
OTAG are a part of LEAP (Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership)
and are funded by the federal government and the state.  Many of you may
remember when the State Regents notified students that they would
receive OTAG.  We haven't done that in a number of years; we have left
that to you as schools to do in your normal financial aid processing.
We will now need to rely on you to add this information to your
2010-2011 award notification.  If you have any questions about this new
