Below is an update on legislative activity at the Oklahoma Legislature
for last week, February 13-17, provided by Hollye Hunt, the State
Regents' Associate Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations. As you
will see in the OKPromise section, the three bills related to Oklahoma's
Promise that were up for subcommittee or committee consideration all
passed. A bill that would have moved tuition-setting authority from the
State Regents back to the Legislature (HB 2593) failed in the House
Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee on Education.

March 1 is the deadline for committee action on bills in their house of
origin.

If you want to find more details on a particular bill, you can go to
http://www.oklegislature.gov/BasicSearchForm.aspx and type in the bill
number.
