[Oasfaa] State Regents Scholarships and Grants Workshop Reminder

This is a reminder that tomorrow the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher
Education will host our annual Scholarships and Grants Workshop. This
meeting will be held in the PHF Conference Center located on the first
floor of the Regents' offices at 655 Research Parkway, OKC, OK 73104.
Attendees should enter the parking garage from Lincoln Street (see
attached map). When entering the parking garage, you will receive a
ticket which you will need to bring with you to the workshop. Before
leaving the workshop you will exchange the ticket for a token to exit
the parking garage. Should you need directions tomorrow morning feel
free to contact the Regents' receptionist at (405) 225-9100. We look

Agenda

 

9:30-11:30     General Session 

The day will begin with an opportunity for you to hear the latest
information regarding Oklahoma's Promise, Academic Scholars, Oklahoma
Tuition Aid Grant and other available State Regents' programs. This
extended session will be designed to provide clarification of direct and
indirect changes to the programs with an emphasis on new monitoring
challenges and reporting requirements.  There will be a designated time
for questions and answers following the presentation.

 

Presenters: Bryce Fair, Associate Vice Chancellor for Scholarships and
Grants, Chris Wadsworth, Scholarship Programs Coordinator.

 

 

11:30-1:00     Lunch (On Your Own)

 

 

1:00-2:30      Oklahoma's Promise & Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG) 

This "nuts and bolts" session will focus on Oklahoma's Promise and OTAG.
We will cover the basics of processing claims and disbursements as well
as refunds and adjusted awards. This is an ideal session for the person
in your office who may be fairly new to working with these programs or
for someone who might like a refresher.  There will be opportunity for
Q&A as well.

                        Oklahoma's Promise: Recruitment and Continuing
Eligibility Issues

This session will provide helpful information for recruiters and
financial aid personnel who are speaking to high school students and
parents as well as counselors.  We will discuss the general requirements
of the program and take a closer look at the issues impacting initial
and continuing eligibility for Oklahoma's Promise students.
