[Oasfaa] FW: Decentralized Training

Good Afternoon!
As promised, here is additional information for the OASFAA 2013 Decentralized Training to be held on October 24, 2013. Please join us for an informative day of training on two important topics: Return to Title IV and Organizational Alignment.  In addition to Financial Aid staff, we encourage you to invite individuals from your Business/Bursar and Registrar's Offices in particular to attend.
The topic for the morning session, presented by OCAP, will be Return to Title IV. The Return to Title IV training will provide attendees with the ability to:
*         Recognize the general requirements for the return of Title IV funds;
*         Understand when the return of Title IV funds do and do not apply;
*         Understand when a student is considered to have withdrawn from different types of academic programs;
*         Recognize and understand the steps of the return of Title IV funds formula when disbursed aid exceeds earned aid; and
*         Recognize and understand the steps of the return of Title IV funds formula when earned aid exceeds disbursed aid.

There will plenty of time allowed for discussion and for the exchange of best practice tips.
The topic of the afternoon session, also presented by OCAP, is Organizational Alignment. This session will consist of high-level training on Organizational Alignment and will include material on strategic planning, process improvement, staff development, and staff evaluation.
Registration will open early next week - you will be notified once it's open. Please register by October 21st.

When: We'll begin at 9:00 am and conclude by 3:30 pm.
Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
As a reminder, there is no charge for current OASFAA members.  If your institution is not a current OASFAA member, the cost is $10 per person.  If you haven't yet done so, this would be a good time to renew your OASFAA Membership!  Attached to this email is a Membership Application and a letter outlining the benefits of an OASFAA membership. After you register you will be provided with a link to the materials.  Each attendee is responsible for printing their own materials and bringing them to the training.  OASFAA is not able to provide printed handouts.
