[Oasfaa] OASFAA Support Staff Training - Registration Ends Today

I hope everyone had a great spring break!

Today is the final day to register for OASFAA's Support Staff Training. This is a great opportunity for staff to receive valuable training at little or no cost to your institution.

Two training topics will be offered this year. The morning session will be a Financial Literacy Boot Camp. Topics will include the basics of creating a family budget, different budgeting methods, and practical ways to allow flexibility in a monthly budget. This session will also cover basic credit knowledge, including what to look for in a credit product, strategies to responsibly manage credit, and how to monitor credit reports.

The afternoon session will feature the Application Process (a NASFAA CORE module). This session introduces the application and delivery system processes,
including the electronic and paper financial aid applications. By the end of this session participants will be able to explain the Title IV financial aid application process for the 2013-14 award year; identify and describe the methods students may use to apply for Title IV aid; identify and explain the data elements collected by the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet; explain how the FAFSA data are processed; identify and describe application processing output; and make application data changes and override a student's dependency status. Participants who complete this session will be eligible to take the NASFAA credentialing exam for this module at no charge. This is a savings of $99 off the normal exam fee.

There is no charge for current OASFAA members. Non-members will be charged $10 per person. OASFAA accepts cash and check payments only. Credit cards are currently not accepted.

Training will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 3:30 pm. Lunch will be provided.

Registration confirmation emails will be sent within a day or two of registration. Confirmation emails will include driving directions.
