[Oasfaa] Gainful Employment Transitional Certification Requirement

In my adventure to get our GE data processed, we found some CIP codes on our list that we no longer use.  I was assured by the Regional Office in Kansas City that the changes that we had to make to our PPA would not affect our GE Reporting.  If we had any CIP codes that showed up on NSLDS that the Department thought you should have reported on, you can go in and code them as I3s

To see if you have any that need adjustment go to NSLDS > ORG Tab > GE Program Tracking List and search by Award Year, Status A1, Reported by COD Yes, Reported by GE NO.

You can then update anything that comes up on the list with an I3 - Other Status
This was direction I was given by Tech Support at NSLDS and was told that it would clean up the issue immediately.
Hope that helps if anyone is trying to get an issue like this cleared.

Also, if you try and update your PPA expect a long delay.  I submitted ours in July and still don't have it back.  I've heard they are very backed up.  :)
Susan, I'm impressed you were able to speak to a person, I've left a number of phone messages and emailed a number of times and have not gotten any response.

Hi Financial Aid Friends,

Good for You, for those institutions that do not have ANY GE Programs to meet reporting and other GE federal requirements.  I finally got my GE Reporting squared away, but I missed the a June 11th Electronic Announcement #54, and was reminded of this requirement due by December 31st, 2015, when I called DOE with a question related to reporting on our 1 GE Program to meet the July 31st deadline.  This Certification is required unless you had a new Program Participation Agreement (PPA) executed between July 1, 2015 and December 31, 2015 that lists your GE Programs.

So, thought I would just put a reminder out there about Electronic Announcement #54 - Certification Requirements signed/dated by your President for Gainful Employment Programs;  http://www.ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/061115GECertificationsFinalJune9.html .

Make note of the Sample GE Transitional Certification at the end of the Announcement that makes it simple to do.  Just plug your school name in, and put on your letterhead, with President's sig, scan, and email to GECertification at ed.gov<mailto:GECertification at ed.gov>.
