Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Student Financial Services reports to the Director, and serves on an administrative team that is primarily responsible for packaging returning student files. A specific segment of the alphabet for returning undergraduate students will be assigned to this position.

Characteristic Duties

·         Packages student aid awards for returning undergraduate students according to federal regulations and within university standards
·         Counsels students as to need levels and award packages, advising them on all available sources of funding
·         Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations as they pertain to student financial assistance
·         Administers the Federal requirements and awards funding through the TEACH Grant Program
·         Monitors the requirements and awards for the GATES MILLENNIUM Program
·         Monitors the Federal Work-study Program within the appropriate federal regulations and institutional policies
·         Administers the state regulations for the OKPromise Program and institutional policies for the Hurricane Pledge
·         Enforces a satisfactory academic progress program to maintain academic excellence within regulatory constraints
·         Maintains activity with state, regional, and national financial aid professional organizations
·         Works in conjunction with the Director to represent The University of Tulsa at public relations events that correlate with the need for financial aid presentations
·         Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Financial Services

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; four years of financial aid experience; thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations and knowledge concerning the financial aid industry; excellent customer service skills; and excellent organizational skills to work in a financial aid office. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for stated qualifications.

Bachelor's degree and four years financial aid experience
