[Oasfaa] 2026-2027 OTAG Allocations

Good afternoon!
At their May 29 meeting, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education approved an allocation of $17,010,329 for the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG) program in 2026-2027, consistent with the amount approved for 2025-2026. In addition to the annual appropriation, $2,003,671 in carryover funds has been added to the 2026-2027 OTAG allocation, bringing the total amount available for distribution to institutions to $19,014,000. Each institution's final 2026-2027 allocation includes its share of both the annual appropriation and the carryover funds. Please see the attached schedule for your institution's 2026-2027 OTAG allocation. All allocations remain contingent upon the availability of state funding.
As a reminder, institutional allocation percentages continue to be based on the methodology adopted by the State Regents in September 2021 following the passage of HB 1821, which set each institution's share according to the percentage of total OTAG funding paid to its students in 2019-2020. We have continued to review award and payment data since that time, and the results have remained consistent with the current allocation percentages. We will continue to monitor the data and evaluate whether any adjustments to the methodology may be warranted in the future.
We are currently updating the OTAG forms and information on the OSRHE Financial Aid Resources for Institutions site: https://okhighered.org/admin-fac/finaidresources/. The 2026-2027 OTAG Award Claim Form template, along with full instructions for completing the claim, will be available soon.
Please remember the primary student eligibility criteria: students must be Oklahoma residents, Pell Grant eligible for the current payment period, and undergraduate students with sufficient financial need. Other awarding priorities include students with the most unmet financial need, students enrolled in programs that meet high-demand workforce needs, students who are nearest to completing a degree or certificate, and students who have remained continuously enrolled.


Please keep in mind that OTAG allocations are awarded on an annual basis, and we recommend awarding and claiming approximately half of your allocation each semester (fall/spring). If your institution underspends or reserves funds, you may also award OTAG for a summer trailer semester. All claims, including summer claims, must be submitted by June 15, 2027. Any funds remaining unclaimed after that date will not carry over into your 2027-2028 allocation.
