The University of North Dakota announces a position opening for the Director
of the University Learning Center. The Director is responsible for
leadership, coordination, and administration of the Center. The Director
employs, supervises, and evaluates the Center staff including the full and
part-time staff and the student workers; provides leadership for the
development of the academic skills assistance programs; oversees the tutoring
program; evaluates overall program effectiveness; consults with faculty and
administrators throughout the University; teaches academic skills courses;
conducts workshops and outreach programs, and manages the Center budget.
Requires a master's degree in an appropriate discipline for the delivery of
academic skill development and tutoring. Prefer administrative and
supervisory experience in a university setting. Desire teaching experience
and working with students at a variety of levels. Experience in developing,
implementing and evaluating educational programs needed. Strong oral and
written communication skills required. Strongly desire direct knowledge of
UND programs and procedures.
The University of North Dakota is a state institution enrolling nearly 11,000
students, of whom about 1,500 are graduate students. Doctoral degrees are
offered in 16 fields, master's degrees in 44, and specialist's diploma in
one.
