The Office of Financial Aid Services at the University of Oklahoma is
accepting applications for the position of Financial Aid Specialist.
Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree plus 12 months experience in
student financial aid. Three years of financial aid experience in
counseling, verification, and packaging is preferred. The salary range is
$25,000 to $28,500
This position serves as the primary agent providing service to financial aid
applicants who are enrolled in degree programs offered through the College
of Liberal Studies and
the Department of Advanced Programs in the College of Continuing Education.
These are degree programs offered in non-traditional formats ranging from
weekend course offerings to internet-based programs. Duties include
evaluation of financial aid applications, determination of different types
of aid and amounts, and communicating with students, campus offices, and
outside organizations to facilitate this process.
This position requires the ability to apply knowledge of Title IV programs,
need analysis, and the SAM System as well as strong organizational and
communication skills. In particular, the position requires the ability to
communicate the financial aid process to a diverse student body, consisting
primarily of students in non-traditional degree programs. In addition, the
position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of
independence and a demonstrated willingness and ability to exercise
individual judgment in the execution of one's duties.
