<BR>Cornell University seeks a professional for the position of Dean of
<BR>Financial Aid. Located in Ithaca, New York, Cornell University, a research
<BR>university and member of the Ivy League, has seven undergraduate and six
<BR>graduate schools and colleges enrolling approximately 19,000 students. As a
<BR>land-grant institution, the University has a tradition of serving New York
<BR>State and a long-standing commitment to need-blind admissions and to
<BR>offering need-based financial aid to all students. This newly created
<BR>position is an opportunity to participate in Cornell’s new and exciting
<BR>enrollment initiatives that are being developed to support and highlight
<BR>Cornell’s unique seven College system.

<BR>Reporting to the Associate Provost for Admissions and Enrollment, the Dean,
<BR>in conjunction with the Director of Financial Aid, is responsible for
<BR>overseeing the operations of the Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid and
<BR>Student Employment. Cornell administers approximately $125 million dollars
<BR>annually in federal, state, and institutional funds and is committed to
<BR>need-blind admissions and awards based on demonstrated financial need. The
<BR>Dean provides leadership in the assessment, analysis, and implementation of
<BR>financial aid strategies with a focus on enhancing Cornell’s
<BR>competitiveness, evaluates market conditions, establishes Cornell’s
<BR>financial aid and student employment policies, and represents the
<BR>institution nationally on issues pertaining to financial aid. The Dean will
<BR>also serve as the Chair of Cornell’s Financial Aid Strategy Group.

<BR>The successful candidate will possess a master's degree with a thorough
<BR>knowledge of current financial aid policies and strategies and extensive
<BR>experience in financial aid administration. Knowledge of national trends in
<BR>financial aid, budget analysis, and data analysis and projections are
<BR>important contributing factors in the selection of the Dean. Demonstrated
<BR>success in the strategic use of financial aid as well as strong management
<BR>and administration skills are essential to this position.
