true offers. The student received a call from a lady who identified herself as
a government employ, who was seeking students who wanted to apply for a
$5000 educational grant ($10,000 for single moms). The student was asked if she
had a checking or saving account from which a $299 processing fee could be
charged. Of course, that's usually a tip off there. Strangely though, the lady
gave the student her name and phone number to which to reply or ask
questions. The number is a 1-866 number. Is that a toll free number? I started
to call the number and then thought it might be an international number or
something bizzare like that. Anyone heard of this scam going around? Is this
something ED needs to know about?</span></font><o:p></o:p></p>
