</SPAN>Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the institution’s default
management plan. Primary responsibilities consist of working in collaboration
with the institutions lenders and student borrowers to ensure that the College
maintains a cohort loan default rate that is in compliance with federal
standards, and maintains a student friendly office. Specific duties include but
are not limited to: assists in general activities of the financial aid office;
works with lenders and the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation (TG) in
utilizing monthly the Default Management Report (DMR) to contact students who
become delinquent by more than 60 days; contacts students three months into the
grace period as a reminder of the date/timeframe that their loans will enter
repayment status; assists delinquent students with requesting/preparing
deferments and or forbearances; works extensively with first-time borrowers on
debt management and borrowing conservatively and with all students on
responsible and reasonable borrowing; assists students in default status who are
attempting to return to school with techniques and requirements necessary to
regain Title IV eligibility; works with the Director of Financial Aid in
developing and enhancing entrance and exit counseling sessions for student loan
processing; conducts comprehensive entrance and exit counseling sessions with
student borrowers; works closely with the Director of Graduate School and Career
Placement identify postgraduate job opportunities for students; assists students
in default prevention (i.e.; deferment, forbearance processing); researches and
documents student loan status; works closely with Director of Campus Support
Programs in establishing academic and tutorial services for students; works with
Independent Third Party (ITP) to determine students entering repayment during a
fiscal year who will be included in the cohort default rate
calculation.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>
