Job:</SPAN></FONT></B> Provide financial aid and scholarship information,
counseling, and advice to incoming freshmen, transfer students, currently
enrolled undergraduate students, parents, prospective students, high schools,
the academic community, and others who are interested in the university.
Responds to questions and counseling needs in-person and by written, phone, and
email means; Actively participate in the phone queue and front desk assistance
with team, serving as a resource to team for questions and other teams for
specific loan questions or problems. Conduct counselor review and exercise
professional judgment in circumstances that allow this practice for financial
aid purposes, including the manual awarding and revision of financial aid
packages <BR>Interprets and maintains knowledge of current federal, state and
institutional policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to financial aid.
Assists in awarding and adjusting of financial aid awards as necessary to
conform to federal, state and institutional policy and regulations. Assists in
providing budgeting, money management, loan and indebtedness counseling to
students on an individual and group basis and make presentations to groups
regarding financial aid and scholarship programs. Assists with awards,
verification, appeals, and other financial aid counseling processes as needed.
Use independent judgment and discretion to supervise associate loan personnel,
including performance evaluations and Performance Development Plans for
employees in the Long-term loan section and assists in the hiring, revising, and
termination processes. Prepares electronic vouchers through FAMIS for returns on
Stafford, Plus, <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Cal</st1:place></st1:State>, BOT, and misc loans. Administers tuition
rebate program for students that qualify. Use independent judgment and
discretion to supervise loan programs, including oversight of accurate and
timely processing of applications and forms and administration of the processing
and certification of all long term loan applications in compliance with all
applicable regulations. In addition is responsible for request and processing of
the bi weekly Less than half time report for students. Serves in an advisory
capacity for established loan programs and assesses need for changes in existing
programs. Maintains relations both with in house and outside agencies and their
processes for the administration of the loan programs and to aid in the
timeliness of loan delivery to students. Reviews quality of Computer service and
other support services for the Loan Section. Assist the Assistant Director in
making policy decisions to aid in improving service to students. Updates and
maintains the Policies and Procedures manual for the Long-term loan department.
Manage the Loan section in the absence of the Assistant Director. Participates
in and may lead work groups within the department. Other duties as

Experience:</SPAN></FONT></B></STRONG>Bachelor's degree and 5 years full-time
experience in student affairs work or related specialty OR Master's degree and 3
years full-time experience in student affairs work or related specialty.
Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Experience:</SPAN></FONT></B></STRONG>Five (5) years financial aid experience.
Personnel management skills preferred. Prefer a minimum one year supervisory
experience. Prefer student loan experience.
