<DIV>Texas Tech University<BR>Director of Financial Aid<BR><BR>Texas Tech
University seeks nominations and applications for the position of Director of
Financial Aid. The preferred date for the individual to begin duties is
August - September 1, 2005.<BR><BR>The Director of Financial Aid reports
directly to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and is
responsible for the leadership of program operations dealing with student
financial aid. This includes exerting efforts to assist students and
parents in meeting their demonstrated financial need through utilization of
state, private, federal, and institutional resources; benchmarking with peer
institutions; communicating and coordinating information to constituencies
within and outside the university; and providing accountability and insuring
compliance with applicable rules, regulations and policies that govern student
financial aid programs. The Office of Financial Aid is staffed by 37
full-time and 8 part-time employees and has an operating budget of approximately
$1,340,000. The 2004-2005 aid disbursed totaled approximately $155,000,000
with 46,750 awards for financial assistance including grants, loans,
scholarships, and work study.<BR><BR>Minimum qualifications for the position
include a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and extensive financial aid
experience at an institution of higher education; comprehensive knowledge of all
regulations governing federal financial aid programs; demonstrate excellent work
ethic and ethical behavior; experience with a scholarship process; experience
with strategic planning; experience and understanding of mainframe and PC
automated systems; demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff and
promote teamwork; effective oral and written communication ability for
individuals and large groups of prospective students and their parents,
secondary school personnel, alumni, current students and their parents, as well
