represented the final year of funding of a 3 year College Goal Sunday grant from
the Lumina Foundation. In addition to sharing information regarding
the FAFSA process, campuses throughout the state did a tremendous job of
sharing a wide variety of information that was helpful to students and
parents, especially first generation college going families.
For that we are very thankful and ask that you share our appreciation with
all of the many folks who were involved in the various sites. However,
as shared at OASFAA, the national College Goal Sunday office has contacted
us with an offer to allow us to apply for a $25,000 extension
grant. Preliminary information regarding this offer is listed
below.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

size=2></FONT></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=361030615-07112005><FONT face=Arial size=2>Funds from the
extension grant could be used by sites for publicizing their local College Goal
Sunday event. Interested parties would apply to the Oklahoma State Regents
for use of a portion of the funds. We in turn would provide a
sub-grant to the institution using a portion of the $25,000 provided by
Lumina. Due to the limited size of the grant we are not able to offer
a statewide public engagement plan as we have done in the
past. However, we are very willing to share past press
releases, art work and other materials that could be updated by your staff to
reflect this year's event information. </FONT></SPAN></DIV>

the timing of this offer, we need to make decisions as quickly as
possible. To assist us in making the decision whether or not to apply for
these funds, please contact our office as soon as possible if you are interested
in continuing to offer a College Goal Sunday event utilizing this new
sub-grant model. We need to make a decision very soon.
