<br><font size=2 color=blue face="Arial">A few of us were at a meeting yesterday and discussed which date to use and agreed that it would be preferable if all the Oklahoma host sites agreed to have their function on the same day. While the "national" date is February 12, the Lumina Foundation allows us to use any Sunday in February. </font>

<br><font size=2 color=blue face="Arial">At OU, we've decided NOT to do our event on February 12 because OU will be participating in events in Tulsa on Feb 11 and Feb 13 with the Sallie Mae "Paying for College Bus Tour'. I'm sure that the other Tulsa institutions will be dedicating their resources to this function as well. <br><font size=2 color=blue face="Arial">There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that I refused to participate on the 12th because OU's women's basketball team is hosting Baylor in Norman on the 12th. I am, however, THRILLED that I will be able to attend the Baylor game because, for some reason, I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't like the Baylor coach (Kim Mulkey-Robertson, affectionately known at our house as "Mookie"). </font>

<br><font size=2 face="Arial">Thanks for your continued interest in College Goal Sunday. Listed below are some updates regarding College Goal Sunday 2006 activities. </font>

<br><font size=2 face="Arial"><b>Submission of the Continuation Grant Proposal by the Oklahoma State Regents-</b> We are in the application approval stage for the grant but hope to hear of approval soon. The requested grant total is $25,000. We will notify you once the grant has been approved. </font>
<br><font size=3 face="Times New Roman"> </font>
<br><font size=2 face="Arial"><b>Applying for funds for your CGS event- </b>Once the grant has been approved, institutions will be eligible to apply for a portion of these funds to be used for their campus College Goal Sunday event. We will provide an application template in the near future. These applications will need to be submitted to the attention of Donna Spain Bryant at </font><a href="mailto:dspain-bryant@osrhe.edu"><font size=2 color=blue face="Arial"><u>dspain-bryant@osrhe.edu</u></font></a><font size=2 face="Arial"> and Rick Edington at </font><a href=mailto:redington@ogslp.org><font size=2 color=blue face="Arial"><u>redington@ogslp.org</u></font></a><font size=2 face="Arial">. <br><font size=2 face="Arial"><b>Date for College Goal Sunday 2006-</b> Although many states are utilizing Sunday, February 12, 2006 as the day for events, Lumina does allow for flexibility. However, events are required to be held on a Sunday and preferably in February. Please include your specific date within the application for funding. </font>

<br><font size=2 face="Arial"><b>Supplies (Pencils, Pens, Notepads etc.) -</b> Once again the Oklahoma Lender Advisory Council (OLAC) has generously agreed to provide supplies for these events. We will be sending a supply request form that can be used to order specific quantities of each of the necessary supplies. These supplies will be delivered to your campus prior to the event date.</font>

<br><font size=2 face="Arial"><b>College Goal Sunday Web Page- </b>OGSLP will continue to provide an Oklahoma College Goal Sunday web page that includes site specific information. This page will be linked to the national College Goal Sunday site.
