<DIV><BR>DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE<BR><BR>Texas A&M University-Corpus
Christi, a master's <BR>comprehensive university with over 8,000 students is
<BR>searching for a Director of Financial Assistance. The <BR>University is
committed to becoming one of the leading <BR>centers of higher education in the
Gulf of Mexico region <BR>while serving the intellectual, cultural, social,
<BR>environmental, and economic needs of South Texas.<BR><BR>The Director of
Financial Assistance reports to the <BR>Associate Vice President for
Enrollment Management and <BR>will be responsible for the administration of
<BR>institutional, federal and state financial assistance and <BR>scholarship
programs and for the overall operation of a <BR>student-focused
department.<BR><BR>The Director will develop financial aid and financial
<BR>service strategies that support the University's <BR>enrollment, retention
and tuition revenue goals; direct <BR>and manage student financial aid and
scholarship programs; <BR>counsel students and resolve problems; participate as
part <BR>of University's enrollment management team; ensure <BR>compliance with
federal, state, and institutional <BR>regulations; prepare and submit reports as
required; <BR>coordinate activities as appropriate with other campus
<BR>offices; ensure proper disbursements and monitor fund <BR>balances;
keep up-to-date concerning financial aid program <BR>regulations, assist in
review and revision of policies and <BR>procedures; provide administrative
review of athletic <BR>grant-in-aid programs and NCAA requirements and reports
as <BR>needed; and serve as primary resource person for <BR>committees involved
with financial aid and/or <BR>scholarships. Perform other duties as
assigned. <BR><BR>Required qualifications:<BR>A Bachelors degree.
Five (5) years of progressively <BR>responsible professional experience in
financial <BR>assistance or a related area. Candidates must demonstrate
<BR>excellent written and oral communication skills and <BR>working knowledge of
financial aid/student information <BR>systems. Experience in managing
staff, budget <BR>development, and strategic planning; knowledge of federal,
<BR>state, and institutional financial aid programs and the <BR>role that
financial aid plays in increasing student <BR>recruitment and retention.
