Wichita State
University<BR><BR>WSU invites applications for the position of Assistant
Director of<BR>Financial Aid for Customer Service / Training. The
Assistant Director has<BR>the primary responsibility for customer service and
staff training and<BR>oversees all client service functions including: outreach
activities,<BR>in-house advisor appointments and walk-in traffic, and front desk
and<BR>telephone service areas. Also, has direct supervision of three
full-time<BR>classified employees.<BR>Duties include but are not limited to
Serves as office Omsbudperson to<BR>students / families seeking financial
assistance. Responsible for gathering<BR>customer feedback on service
performance for the office. Will conduct<BR>follow-up with students /
families as necessary. Will compile statistics in<BR>customer service area to
assess whether office goals / standards are being<BR>met. Determines
staffing patterns and needs of front desk and telephone<BR>operations.
Oversee scheduling of staff in both of these areas. Acts as<BR>liaison to
the Admissions and Orientation Offices. Develops publications<BR>and
presentation materials. Primary contact for activities and
events.<BR>Responsible for presentations and workshops, both on and off
campus.<BR>Coordinates all internal and external publications for the Office
of<BR>Financial Aid, including quarterly newsletter. Counsels with
prospective<BR>and current students and families regarding financial aid issues
and<BR>concerns, including application and awarding process, budget issues
and<BR>available options to meet their needs. Oversees comprehensive
staff<BR>training for new staff and monitors need for on-going training for
existing<BR>staff. Coordinates staff training and monthly staff meetings
for student<BR>employees. Responsible for creation / updating of staff
training manuals.<BR>Responsible for staff training for Banner software and
maintance of Banner<BR>Training Manual. Chair student advisory board for
Office of Financial Aid.<BR>Will assist with packaging / processing of federal
student aid as needed.<BR>Develop professionally by reading and attending
professional conferences<BR>and workshops.<BR>Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; effective oral and written<BR>communication skills; ability
to work collaboratively as a team;<BR>demonstrated commitment to diversity and
successful experience working with<BR>diverse populations; knowledge of federal
financial aid policies and<BR>programs; and a commitment to customer service,
higher education and<BR>working with students; one year full time work
experience at counselor<BR>level or higher in a Title IV federal student aid
office.<BR>Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years full time work
experience at<BR>counselor level or higher in a Title IV federal student
financial aid<BR>office and experience with Banner computer system.<BR>To
