In more exciting news, a state budget was announced last week. The Governor, Speaker, Pro Temp, and Appropriations leadership held a press conference announcing a budget agreement for the year. Agencies were held harmless from potential 2% cuts, with several
targeted legislative investments included for specific agencies and needs—particularly for SDE. Overall, it was a tight budget year, with ongoing uncertainty around federal reimbursement dollars contributing to a more conservative approach.</div>
