"Oklahoma Public Schools: Fast Facts, 2015-2016" contains 32 pages of graphs and information on education topics including enrollment, student demographics, academic achievement and more. In most cases, comparative data is included. "The State Department of Education is committed to transparency, but the sheer volume of information we gather and report can make translating it to the public a challenge," said Steffie Corcoran, executive director of communications. "We're excited to share Fast Facts with anyone interested in receiving essential public education information in a convenient format." One section, "By the Numbers," spotlights agency-specific figures. For example, during the 2014-2015 school year, Regional Accreditation Officers (RAOs) drove 204,908 miles visiting Oklahoma schools, and in a three-month period in late 2015, the agency's Customer Service department handled 9,234 telephone calls. To download Fast Facts, click here. Fast Facts and other valuable public education reports are available on the OSDE website's Reporting Index under the School/District/State Performance link. ### [bird image] [blue footer] [gov icon] [twitter icon] [facebook icon] [flicr icon] [vimeo icon] [youtube icon] [end of footer image] SUBSCRIBER SERVICES: Manage Preferences | Unsubscribe | Delete Profile | Help | Questions: Contact Us ________________________________ This email was sent to ibillen at rose.edu using GovDelivery, on behalf of: OK State Dept of Ed * 2500 North Lincoln Boulevard * Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73105-4599 * 1-800-439-1420 [Powered by GovDelivery] -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... See attached excerpt. Dual enrollment signifies that the course counts for college credit and high school graduation. Dual and concurrent are used inter-changeably regardless of where the course is taught. By law in Oklahoma, high schools are required to transcript the course but may determine how. Some may count the course as replacing a requirement and others as an elective. I've not seen the survey, but I assume that HLC wants to know how many high school students were served. Let us know if you have additional questions. Debra Debra L. At our last OKAIR meeting I found that there are varying definitions of dual-credit. I always thought that dual-credit meant that a high school student enrolled in a college course would get college credit for the course and high school credit on their high school transcript and that Oklahoma does not currently allow for dual-credit. Others thought that dual-credit simply meant that the college level course was being taught at the high school by a high school teacher. The HLC Institutional Update Survey instructions say that concurrent enrollment and dual-credit are the same thing and we are to report all of our concurrent counts in the dual-credit fields. As always, thanks for your time and the support you give us.
