Hi Izzy-

The State Regents define concurrent enrollment in the Institutional Admission and Retention policy as high school students enrolled in college courses. See attached excerpt. Dual enrollment signifies that the course counts for college credit and high school graduation. Dual and concurrent are used inter-changeably regardless of where the course is taught. By law in Oklahoma, high schools are required to transcript the course but may determine how. Some may count the course as replacing a requirement and others as an elective. I've not seen the survey, but I assume that HLC wants to know how many high school students were served.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Debra and Debbie
Is there a State Regents Policy definition on high school dual-credit? At our last OKAIR meeting I found that there are varying definitions of dual-credit. I always thought that dual-credit meant that a high school student enrolled in a college course would get college credit for the course and high school credit on their high school transcript and that Oklahoma does not currently allow for dual-credit. Others thought that dual-credit simply meant that the college level course was being taught at the high school by a high school teacher. The HLC Institutional Update Survey instructions say that concurrent enrollment and dual-credit are the same thing and we are to report all of our concurrent counts in the dual-credit fields.

As always, thanks for your time and the support you give us.
