[OK-AIR] IPEDS Spring collection Human Resources

I follow the precedent created by my predecessor, who placed them in Student and Academic Affairs, with the exception of the receptionist position, which is placed in the Office and Administrative Support.  Her notes indicate that she talked to the IPEDS help desk about categories several times and noted that, in some cases, one has to use his/her best judgment.

Subject: [OK-AIR] IPEDS Spring collection Human Resources

In which section do you all place your employees who work in Admissions, student financial aid, student activites etc?  One piece of IPEDS says to put them in Student and Academic Affairs and Other Educational Services Occupations but when you click on the SOC Crosswalk and look at the definitions for the SOC codes that start with 25 you only see Teachers defined, preschool, primary, other teachers etc.

I spoke to the IPEDS helpdesk and they said they would bring this up and can see how it might be confusing but that it is completely up to the institutions as to where they classify employees.
