Title: Research and Data Specialist

Duties:
*         Applies appropriate research methodology and statistical analysis to support the department in the interpretation of institutional data
*         Prepares and presents research findings and analysis that supports institutional decision-making and effectiveness
*         Initiates and develops computer processes to retrieve, merge, and report information from multiple databases, systems and electronic files
*         Uses, updates and contributes to internal and external databases
*         Designs and directs studies of student and faculty opinions, satisfaction, and usage of University resources
*         Services internal and external data requests
Requirements:
Education: Ph.D. Doctoral degree in Social Sciences, Science, Education or related field
Experience:
*         Minimum of (3) years of experience
*         Intermediate knowledge of statistical software (e.g. SPSS or SAS) and reporting software (e.g. PowerPoint)
*         Knowledge if trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position
*         Strong attention to detail
*         Candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Abilities:
*         Ability to extract and manipulate data and produce reports
*         Ability to honor professional ethics and protect the confidentially of information
*         Ability to meet deadlines
*         Ability to exercise good judgment
*         Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
