Institutional Research Data Specialist
Faculty and Professional Staff
Description:
Conducts survey research administration and reporting for the entire campus; creates charts and graphics to present data clearly and simply to a wide audience; responds to internal and external data requests; provides support for various Institutional Planning departmental activities and projects.
Responsibilities:
Conducts survey research administration and reporting for the entire institution using CoursEval, Survey Monkey, and paper surveys; Creates statistical charts and graphics for clear and simple visual presentation of data (i.e., infographics), including producing PowerPoints for use in various presentations; Responds to internal and external data requests; Assists Institutional Research Analyst in the production and dissemination of reports to internal and external constituencies; Monitors office website and submits updates when needed; Maintains office schedule of data requests and projects; Provides support for departmental activities and projects, such as institutional effectiveness, accreditation, strategic planning, and grant writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of two years' work experience in education, governmental agency, information technology, business, or social science research; institutional research and higher education experience preferred. Database query skills or ability to quickly learn; SQL and Access experience a plus. Basic knowledge of statistics; knowledge of SPSS or SAS a plus. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Capability and willingness to learn new software as required. Ability to create graphical representations of data to present information clearly and simply to a wide audience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and with all college constituent groups. Ability to prioritize tasks and to meet strict deadlines.
