With a budget in excess of $200 million, Central Piedmont employs approximately 1,200 full-time faculty and staff, as well as approximately 1,800 part-time faculty and staff.

Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the Cabinet, the VP of Academic Affairs serves as the Chief Academic Officer in a learning-centered college. The primary role of the office is to provide guidance and support in the planning, managing, and evaluating of all curriculum, continuing education, and basic skills areas of the college. The VPAA will also work collaboratively with business and industry to ensure that Central Piedmont has innovative workforce training programs that respond to community labor market demands. He/she will provide executive leadership in creating a unified and focused vision for student success.

The successful candidate will have extensive working knowledge and depth of understanding of higher education, along with proven experience in diagnosing organization capabilities and translating the diagnosis into practical applications that enhance and broaden the learning opportunities provided by the College. Proven leadership and interpersonal capabilities; strong influencing and communication skills; the ability to lead, cultivate, and inspire an intentional and transformative organizational culture; and the ability to challenge and motivate team members are required. This self-motivated and resourceful individual will have extensive academic and administrative experience with proven success in improving educational outcomes and student retention. Knowledge and experience with Achieving the Dream, the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program, or similar education reform programs focused on student success is desirable.
