As a School Counselor Specialist for the Oklahoma State Department of Education, you will provide expertise across all areas of school counseling and stay current on best practices in academic, career, and personal development. This role requires strong knowledge of Oklahoma’s Accreditation Standard VI and Advisement and Counseling Services. You will collaborate with interagency partners and external organizations to offer guidance and technical assistance to districts. Key responsibilities include supporting academic advisement, developing graduation pathways, leveraging ICAP for postsecondary planning, implementing MTSS, assisting with crisis response, and helping districts develop comprehensive school counseling programs. Your work will strengthen counseling practices and improve outcomes for Oklahoma students.
