From along at osrhe.edu Mon May 5 16:45:20 2025 From: along at osrhe.edu (Long, Annette) Date: Mon, 5 May 2025 21:45:20 +0000 Subject: [OkStudentPrep] Welcome to ACTNow! - please read this email re: PreACT this fall Message-ID: Good afternoon, I hope that your school year is wrapping up smoothly. Looking to next school year, please be advised of significant updates regarding the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) contract for the 10th grade PreACT. We at OSRHE will continue to learn more about this throughout the summer, but as of now this is the information we have. Key Changes for Fall 2025 PreACT: 1. Ordering and Pre-Administration: With the launch of the ACTNow platform for our contract, there will be new procedures for ordering the PreACT and completing pre-administration tasks. Please see Summer Email from OSRHE below. 2. Testing Options: Schools will have the flexibility to administer the PreACT either on paper or online, or both within the same school. Action Required: * ACTNow Emails: Ensure you read all communications from ACT regarding ACTNow. * Summer Email from OSRHE: Look out for an email containing a Google form that must be completed as the initial step to participate in the 10th grade PreACT under the OSRHE contract. This form is similar to the one completed by superintendents to identify the District Test Coordinator (DTC) for ACT testing through OSDE. You will not have access to participate in our contract for the PreACT unless this form is completed. Please note that due to these changes the ordering window will not open until August 11th, which is later than it has opened in recent years. If you participate in the OSRHE 10th grade PreACT, please make sure that you or your DTC and BTC received the email below. Thank you, Annette Long, M.Ed., LPC Director of Student Preparation for College Readiness Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education along at osrhe.edu www.okhighered.org/student-prep 405.225.9156 From: PreACT Sent: Monday, May 5, 2025 11:56 AM To: Long, Annette Subject: Welcome to ACTNow! << THIS E-MAIL WAS RECEIVED FROM AN EXTERNAL SOURCE >> Check out these updates and resources for ACT Now testing. You may be involved in planning your school calendar for the 2025-26 year, so we're writing to remind you to take a look at your calendars and decide where you can fit in your school's next College Application Week (CAW). Typically, CAW is held during the last full week of September, to correspond with National GEAR UP Week. We have not gotten an official confirmation on the exact dates yet, but we expect that CAW will occur during that same week again this year, which is September 22-26, 2025. Keep in mind, though, that your CAW doesn't have to be held that week-you can choose any week during the months of September through November, 2025 to host your event. We had a tremendous CAW in 2024! * 142 high schools, higher education institutions and tribal partners registered for the event--our biggest enrollment yet! * At least 4,053 high school seniors participated in CAW events statewide and submitted over 7,900 college applications. * Applications were sent to at least 240 colleges in 42 states and Washington, D.C. At the end of CAW, the 142 site coordinators were asked to submit an exit survey reporting the number of seniors who participated and the number of college applications submitted. They were also given the opportunity to share the various activities they used to engage their students and to make their CAW a success. Each school that submitted an exit survey was considered as a nominee for the annual Oklahoma College Application Week School of Excellence Award. Congratulations go to all of our School of Excellence winners so far: * Edmond Memorial High School, 2019 * Miami High School, 2020 * Indianola High School, 2021 * Booker T. Washington High School, Tulsa, 2022 * Bixby High School, 2023 * Dove Science Academy High School, Tulsa, 2024 It's not too early to register for CAW 2025! Simply complete the CAW Registration Survey by either clicking this survey link or visiting OKCollegeAppWeek.org and clicking the 'Register Now' button. In August, we'll mail you a packet containing free promotional posters and free 'I Applied' stickers for the estimated number of seniors you expect to participate. While you're on the website, take a look at all the great resources available to event coordinators, students and volunteers! We've updated our materials, so be sure to check them out! Thanks again for your hard work throughout the year. We hope you'll join us again this fall to be a part of an even bigger college application event statewide!
