PRIMARY FUNCTION: Instruct students in the Health Careers Program by providing an environment that enables students to have meaningful learning experiences in order to gain the knowledge and applied skill needed for entry level employment as a health care assistant and/or continued education in a health service career.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and two years of experience in long-term care.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Unencumbered Registered Nurse Licensure; eligible for an Oklahoma Provisional Technology Center Teaching Certificate upon hire; ability to obtain CPR instructor certification upon hire; Long-Term Care Nurse Aide Instructor qualifications; and Clinical Skills Observer Certification.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Professional safety instructional position. The Safety Instructor is responsible for teaching generalized and customized safety education classes relating to specific industry sectors or companies. WTC safety training is primarily designated for business and industry clients located within Career Tech District 12. However, occasional out-of-district or out-of-state safety training is also within the scope of this position. This job includes individual consultations with business and industry clients which may include but are not limited to recommendations for specialized safety programs, development of curriculum for specific safety applications and proposals for future customized safety training programs based on analysis of current safety related incidents within a company or organization.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: This is a twelve (12) month, full-time professional staff position. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a safety-related field or five (5) years of proven experience as a Safety Manager, Safety Trainer or Industrial Safety Coordinator.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: The Safety Instructor must possess a current and valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be eligible to work in the U.S. The individual must maintain any State Department Safety Certification or other Safety related certifications that may be deemed necessary by the Western Technology Center Superintendent or Business and Industry Services Director.
