Happy New Year, CGR Members!

We hope everyone had a fantastic and relaxing holiday break.

Before the new year gets away from me, thank you to all who attended the Fall Meeting held during the NCURA Region V Conference in October. We hope you had a positive and productive experience meeting new colleagues and absorbing different perspectives on grants and research administration!

As a recap and for those who were unable to attend (no worries), following is an overview of the meeting:


  *   Welcomed newcomers and provided overview of CGR and our role in Oklahoma's institutions of higher education.
  *   Addressed each item on the Agenda.

     *   Spring 2023 Minutes were approved.
     *   Because of the limited meeting time, agenda topics were discussed but not all were voted on and approved.
     *   It is time to elect a new Chair, Secretary/Treasurer, and we discussed doing this over email. Once elected, we can plan the Spring 2024 meeting time/place. If anyone is interested in these positions and/or would like to nominate a great candidate, please consider a nomination and we will send requests as soon as we begin the (electronic) election process.
     *   New photos were taken. See attached, and feel free to vote on your favorite one (the other photos had variations of eyes closed).

  *   Fall 2023 Meeting minutes: We are gathering our notes to complete the meeting minutes, so if you have any you would like to share, feel free to send those and we will share those with the group asap.

Finally, Oklahoma Research Day is coming up! Save the date for March 8, 2024 (a link to the website is forthcoming!). We plan to have a table set up again and will provide volunteer times (in a future email) for anyone interested in representing CGR that day.

We hope all is well this Fall 2023 semester as the leaves are changing to vibrant colors, temperatures are (slowly) dropping, and the pace of the holiday season (and grant deadlines) seem(s) to speed up!

For the Fall 2023 CGR Meeting, we have collaborated with the NCURA Region V staff to combine our resources and schedule the meeting as a conference session. We hope this will allow CGR members the opportunity to network with both our Oklahoma colleagues as well as our regional colleagues on all things grants and research administration.

The CGR meeting will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, at 9:15 a.m., Red Carpet Room, Sheraton Hotel, 1 North Broadway Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK, 73012.
