Well...here it is the first week of June! Time has escaped me. Our grant submission activity at UCO is on the upswing, which we are excited about, although it can pull us away from these other very significant professional networking and information exchange activities. For what may be similar reasons (we hope!), we received only a few responses on availability for the Spring Meeting. Therefore, I propose a Virtual Spring/Summer 2024 Meeting to address the bi-annual elections and other items on the Fall 2023 Meeting agenda. A virtual meeting may also help with challenges in travel times and summer schedules. Well...here it is the first week of June! Time has escaped me. Our grant submission activity at UCO is on the upswing, which we are excited about, although it can pull us away from these other very significant professional networking and information exchange activities. For what may be similar reasons (we hope!), we received only a few responses on availability for the Spring Meeting. Therefore, I propose a Virtual Spring/Summer 2024 Meeting to address the bi-annual elections and other items on the Fall 2023 Meeting agenda. A virtual meeting may also help with challenges in travel times and summer schedules. Following is a proposed agenda and meeting times: Proposed Agenda 9:30-9:45 a.m. - CGR Welcome (overview of CGR and mission, acknowledgement of returning and new members) 9:45-10:00 a.m. - OSRHE news and updates - Christine Fisher 10:00-10:20 a.m. - Guest Presenter - TBD 10:20-10:30 a.m. - Ten-minute break 10:30-10:45 a.m. - Review and approval of Fall 2023 Meeting minutes 10:45 -11:15 a.m. - New and ongoing topics *Grant networking in Oklahoma *Career recruitment in grants administration *Grant trainings and certifications *CGR bling - tablecloth, pins, brochures and/or fact sheets on different grant topics, etc. 11:15 -11:30 a.m. - Elections for Chairperson and Secretary/Treasurer 11:30-11:45 a.m. - Concluding remarks Proposed/potential afternoon workshop/breakout session(s) - (will schedule if enough interest): 1:30 - 2:30pm - CGR in the future 1:30 - 2:30pm - Pre-Award focus (topic TBD) 1:30 - 2:30pm - Post-Award focus (topic TBD) Proposed Virtual Meeting Times June 18, Tuesday June 20, Thursday July 17, Wednesday July 18, Thursday Please let us know (via emails listed below) if you are interested in a Spring/Summer 2024 CGR Meeting and the day(s) that work best with your schedule. It's already that time (maybe even a little late) to set a time and place for a Spring Meeting. The first item on the agenda is to elect a new CGR Chair and Secretary/Treasurer. We can do this via email as the charter does not specify location of elections.
