Hello CGR Members!
Well...here it is the first week of June! Time has escaped me. Our grant submission activity at UCO is on the upswing, which we are excited about, although it can pull us away from these other very significant professional networking and information exchange activities.
For what may be similar reasons (we hope!), we received only a few responses on availability for the Spring Meeting.
Therefore, I propose a Virtual Spring/Summer 2024 Meeting to address the bi-annual elections and other items on the Fall 2023 Meeting agenda. A virtual meeting may also help with challenges in travel times and summer schedules. Following is a proposed agenda and meeting times:
Proposed Agenda
9:30-9:45 a.m. - CGR Welcome (overview of CGR and mission, acknowledgement of returning and new members)
9:45-10:00 a.m. - OSRHE news and updates - Christine Fisher
10:00-10:20 a.m. - Guest Presenter - TBD
10:20-10:30 a.m. - Ten-minute break
10:30-10:45 a.m. - Review and approval of Fall 2023 Meeting minutes
10:45 -11:15 a.m. - New and ongoing topics
*Grant networking in Oklahoma
*Career recruitment in grants administration
*Grant trainings and certifications
*CGR bling - tablecloth, pins, brochures and/or fact sheets on different grant topics, etc.
11:15 -11:30 a.m. - Elections for Chairperson and Secretary/Treasurer
11:30-11:45 a.m. - Concluding remarks
Proposed/potential afternoon workshop/breakout session(s) - (will schedule if enough interest):
1:30 - 2:30pm - CGR in the future
1:30 - 2:30pm - Pre-Award focus (topic TBD)
1:30 - 2:30pm - Post-Award focus (topic TBD)

Please let us know (via emails listed below) if you are interested in a Spring/Summer 2024 CGR Meeting and the day(s) that work best with your schedule.
While I have truly enjoyed my time as the Chairperson for CGR, it is time for me to step away. If you would like to volunteer to run for a position or nominate anyone else, please send names along with your time availability directly to me (rgordon7 at uco.edu<mailto:rgordon7 at uco.edu>) AND Christine Fisher (cfisher at osrhe.edu<mailto:cfisher at osrhe.edu>), and we will add you to the election list. This is a great opportunity for your institution, the regional (grants) network, and to expand individual professional credentials.
Once we receive availability and nomination responses, we will send follow up details for the Spring/Summer CGR Meeting 2024.
We sincerely appreciate all you do for research and higher education in Oklahoma and hope to see you soon!

Happy Spring CGR members!
It's already that time (maybe even a little late) to set a time and place for a Spring Meeting.
The first item on the agenda is to elect a new CGR Chair and Secretary/Treasurer. We can do this via email as the charter does not specify location of elections. If you would like to volunteer to run for a position or nominate anyone else, please send in names directly to me (rgordon7 at uco.edu<mailto:rgordon7 at uco.edu>) or Christine Fisher (cfisher at osrhe.edu<mailto:cfisher at osrhe.edu>)! This is a great opportunity for your institution, the regional (grants) network, and to expand individual professional credentials.
For the Spring Meeting, please send your thoughts on a time and location. We could do a Zoom meeting or possibly a central location, so let us know what might work best for you/your team(s).
Other items to cover during the meeting:
* ORD 2024 - Overview, ORD 2025 - NSU.
* CGR table presentation (table kit for these events, ideas?): new logo, swag, new table cloth & brochures, general "how to get started in grants" information for non-CGR people, maybe have some grant training/certification information, grant writing as a career, bag with grant info, candy, "where's the money" tag.
* We have a possible volunteer (thanks Jamie/SWOSU! :) to update the brochures, so if you have ideas, please bring those with you.
