Here is a neat little project by the K20 group at OU in Norman. Quyen
Arana (qarana at ou.edu) presented about this device at the ODLA conference
(www.odla.org) today. They are developing a game to run on this hand
held for 5-7th graders. It's a multi user adventure game with educative
content which must be completed during the game play.

 

Right now, they have a few hundred wi-fi equipped devices at some pilot
schools. I had a visit with the associated director today about the
possibility of WiMAX in the devices which would enable the students to
take the boxes home (coverage permitting)
