Tricia Berry, Director of the Women in Engineering Program (WEP) at The
University of Texas at Austin, is responsible for leading the efforts on
recruitment and retention of women in the Cockrell School of
Engineering. She concurrently serves as Director of the Texas Girls
Collaborative Project, an initiative aimed at connecting Texas
organizations, companies and individuals working to increase gender
equity in STEM fields. Berry is also Executive Vice President of 825
Basics, LLC, a professional training company with the mission to help
develop healthy, fit and full of energy careers. Berry came to UT after
working as both a Process Engineer and a Product Development Engineer at
The Dow Chemical Company. She is a SWE Life Member and currently serves
as President Elect of Women in Engineering Programs and Advocates
Network (WEPAN), a national organization focused on transforming the
culture in engineering education. Berry holds both a BS Chemical
Engineering degree and an MBA.

Tricia Berry from the Assessing Women in Engineering Project of The
University of Texas at Austin shares about assessments and using
objective driven assessment to improve the success of local programs. By
creating an assessment-based culture, programs can understand what is
working, what is not, and why. Webinar participants will learn to
identify objectives for program activities, identify assessment items /
instruments to support identified objectives, become aware of AWE
assessment instruments and be able to access tools from the AWE Web
site.

With good assessment, programs can:

*	Better understand the impact of programming activities

*                     Identify program needs

*                     Allocate resources effectively

*                     Meet reporting requirements

*                     Attract funding

*                     Create & compare cross activity/cross
institutional data

*                     Command respect
