GOOD NEWS! The 2012-2013 Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA),
Improving Teacher Quality Request for Proposal (RFP) is now posted at
http://okhighered.org/itq/2012.shtml.
PLEASE NOTE: In this website, you will find the RFP, required
appendices, resources and additional links about the ESEA reauthorizing
status.
THE KEY COMPONENTS:
* RFP is in downloadable PDF format.
* Appendices are in secured MS Word, Filling in Forms format.
* Please note that you must recruit teachers from high-need LEA:
o A high-need local education agency (LEA) is a public or private
school district or agency that meets both poverty constraints set forth
by the census bureau and highly qualified status set forth by the
Oklahoma State Department of Education. The most recent high-need LEA
template is on our website, but as of now only 2009-2010 highly
qualified list is posted. I am still waiting for the SDE to provide the
new list. In the mean time, if you have any questions about highly
qualified status of a school, please refer to the School Report Card
and/or communicate directly with the school leadership staff to document
the HQT status of that school.
* Every year, the sub-grant type must reflect the need of the
school districts and the state. Three types of awards: A, B and C, are
available this year.
* Please read the submission requirements carefully. Proposals
that do not satisfy the submission requirements will not be forwarded to
a panel review process.
o Note - the proposal submission deadline is October 13, 2011 (see the
RFP, page 13).
o Note - the proposal submission process (see the RFP, page 13).
* The Technical Assistance Meeting will be held on Wednesday,
September 7, 2011, 1-3 p.m. at the offices of the State Regents in
Oklahoma City (map is attached). If you are planning to join via
videoconferencing, please complete and return the attached VC form no
later than Tuesday, September 6, 2011, by 12:00p.m.
I look forward to reading your proposals and don't hesitate to let me
know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Saeed
