[Okgrantsmanship] Two one-year positions at Pitt-Johnstown

The Chemistry Department at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown invites applications for two one-year, full-time positions in Chemistry at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor (or Visiting Instructor, depending on credentials) for the upcoming academic year. Teaching responsibilities for one position include Chemistry for Health Professions and lab, Preparation for Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Responsibilities for the other position are General Chemistry and lab and Preparation for Chemistry.

A Ph. D. in Chemistry preferred; all areas will be considered; a commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level; effective oral and written communication skills.  Ability to teach preparation for chemistry, general chemistry, chemistry for health professions (& lab) and/or organic chemistry should be documented by at least one of the following: letter of reference, peer review of teaching, student evaluations or teaching awards. Screening will begin as soon as materials are received and will continue until position is filled.

For full consideration submit: (1) Letter of application, (2) current curriculum vita, (3) statement of teaching philosophy, (4) evidence of quality teaching, (5) undergraduate and graduate transcripts (copies will suffice for initial screening), (6) statement of eligibility for employment in the United States (if not US citizen), and (7) three current and relevant letters of recommendation mailed directly to the Chair of the Search Committee.
