*         Guide to Clinical Trials Administration<http://srainternational.org/meeting/section/westernsouthern-section-meeting/workshops>-This teaching workshop featuring Bruce Steinert, Director of Clinical Research at Midwestern Regional Medical Center, will examine the basics of clinical trial administration from recruiting projects to archiving records and discuss best practices for managing clinical trials.



*         European Union Research Program Fundamentals<http://srainternational.org/meeting/section/westernsouthern-section-meeting/t4-european-union-research-programme-fundamentals>-John Westensee, Director of Research Support at Aarhus University Hospital, will provide a broad overview of European Union funding opportunities for American researchers and address funding rules, as well as the preparation and submission of proposals.



*         Washington Update:  From the Sequester to Now<http://srainternational.org/meeting/section/2014-westernsouthern-section-meeting/t12-washington-update-sequester-now>-William Schweri, Director of Federal Relations at the University of Kentucky, will describe the current political landscape and discuss budget planning for FY2015.


Informative sessions will be offered on a variety of topics that will interest both newcomers and those who have been involved with research administration for some time.  Several workshops are being offered prior to the conference start and three certificate programs are planned:
