Texas Tech is looking to add a research development administrator to my team. We are looking to hire in the $33,000 - $39,000 range for this individual, with the intention of eventual advancement to senior research development administrator.  Below is more information on the position. Position Description

Performs managerial work providing direction and guidance in setting and achieving goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and establishing and monitoring budgets. May plan, assign, and supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions


  *   Manages the limited submission competition process for the university.
  *   Identifies limited submission funding opportunities through Internet searches, web services and historical opportunities.
  *   Creates internal proposal guidelines based on program solicitations.
  *   Creates internal rubrics based on program solicitations.
  *   Coordinates the internal reviewers and compiles results.
  *   Monitors the limited submissions mailbox.
  *   Maintains the RDT and limited submissions websites.
  *   Identifies future and current funding opportunities that align with faculty research interests and institutional strengths.
  *   Sends out grant opportunities announcements to interested faculty.
  *   Facilitates collaborations crossing departmental and institutional boundaries and guides these collaborations in connecting with the program officers and in developing large, center-type proposals.
  *   Leads teams of faculty and administrators in selecting targets for large, multidisciplinary, multi-institutional initiatives, refining their focus, organizing reviews as needed, and providing guidance to ensure the resulting proposals are competitive.
  *   Responds to requests from multi-disciplinary faculty teams for assistance with proposal development for grant proposals valued at $1 million or more.
  *   Coordinates and/or assists with other activities and special projects as requested by the Director of the Research Development Team.
