Dear Colleagues,

It is with great sorrow that I inform you of the sudden passing of Dr. Thomas Jackson on July 19, 2019.

Prior to his retirement in June of this year, Jackson had been with Northeastern State University since 2004 serving as Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Professor of Psychology & Counseling and Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs.

NSU, academia and the community all benefited from his numerous contributions as a faculty member. He diligently served as the Research Integrity Officer and fostered a culture of scholarship.

Jackson was an ally to the American Indian campus community where he served as advocate, leader and mentor. He was also an active scholar and published more than 13 books, over 125 chapters and numerous refereed journal publications.

A valued colleague and mentor, Jackson’s expertise on multiple issues and backgrounds served well to move NSU forward. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.  Thursday, July 25 at Green Country Funeral Home in Tahlequah.
