Subject: Peer Reviewers needed plus Funding Opportunities!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Below please find a few solicitations and other opportunities that may be of interest:

- The USDA, Rural Development- Rural Utilities Service (RUS) is seeking subject matter experts to volunteer to be peer reviewers and subjectively evaluate grant applications. This request is for the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT)<https://www.rd.usda.gov/programs-services/distance-learning-telemedicine-grants> – Opioid program applications for projects that address substance use disorder and opioid misuse in rural communities. The reviewers will not review the entire application, only the opioids section of each application. Please see the attached for details on how to apply. Please direct your questions on this opportunity to Chad Parker, chad.parker at wdc.usda.gov<mailto:chad.parker at wdc.usda.gov>.

- The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a new Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) funding opportunity recently. Under RCORP-Implementation, HRSA will make approximately 75 awards of up to $1 million each to networks and/or consortia to enhance substance use disorder (SUD), including opioid use disorder (OUD), service delivery in high-risk rural communities. All domestic public and private entities, nonprofit and for-profit, are eligible to apply and all services must be provided in HRSA-designated rural areas (see the Rural Health Grants Eligibility Analyzer<%3ehttp:/links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTkwMzA3LjI3NzkyMTEmbWVzc2FnZWlkPU1EQi1QUkQtQlVMLTIwMTkwMzA3LjI3NzkyMTEmZGF0YWJhc2VpZD0xMDAxJnNlcmlhbD0xODA2ODU5OCZlbWFpbGlkPWFodXRjaGluZ3NAaHJzYS5nb3YmdXNlcmlkPWFodXRjaGluZ3NAaHJzYS5nb3YmZmw9JmV4dHJhPU11bHRpdmFyaWF0ZUlkPSYmJg==&&&103&&&https://data.hrsa.gov/tools/rural-health%3c>). The funding notice is available https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/search-grants.html?keywords=hrsa-19-082. Webinar for applicants: Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 11:30-1:00 pm ET. Call-In Number: 1-888-566-7680/Participant Code: 5808487. Please contact ruralopioidresponse at hrsa.gov<mailto:ruralopioidresponse at hrsa.gov> with any questions.

- The Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is accepting applications for First Responders-Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (FR-CARA) Grants. Recipients will train and provide resources to first responders and members of other key community sectors at the state, tribal, and local governmental levels on carrying and administering a drug or device approved or cleared under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act for emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdose. Recipients will also establish processes; protocols; mechanisms for referral to appropriate treatment and recovery communities; and safety around fentanyl, carfentanil, and other dangerous licit and illicit drugs. SAMHSA plans to issue 45 grants of up to $800,000 per year for up to 4 years. Application Due Date: Monday, May 6, 2019. You can learn more here: https://www.samhsa.gov/grants/grant-announcements/ti-19-004

- Just a few days left to take advantage of the Department of Justice - Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) solicitation: Implementing MAT in jails and enhancing collaboration between jails and community providers are required to change the course of the opioid epidemic, but these are not easy tasks for local jurisdictions. BJA is collaborating with Arnold Ventures to support a nine-month planning initiative designed to help communities develop a comprehensive continuum of care model that targets the jail population and builds bridges between in-custody and community-based treatment. Under this solicitation, up to 15 communities will be selected to participate in the planning initiative. All required application components must be submitted via online application no later than 5:00 p.m., ET, on March 25, 2019. You can find out more here: DOJ-BJA Opioid funding Opportunity<https://www.coapresources.org/ItemsOfInterest/FundingOpportunities>

Finally be on the lookout for the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) FY2019 Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program (COAP) solicitation. See the Fact Sheet: Justice Department is Awarding Almost $320 Million to Combat Opioid Crisis<%3ehttps:/www.bja.gov/Programs/FS-Opioids-Substance-Abuse-2018_508.pdf%3c> to learn about the FY 2018 awards made for BJA-specific programs, including the Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Site-based Program, Innovative Prosecution Solutions, Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program, and others.

We encourage you to share this information widely with your partners and stakeholders.

Best!
