Each year schools are recognized as the State Champs by school size based on the most seniors completing the program requirements. The 2006 State Champs are: Class 6A - Putnam City HS; Class 5A - Northwest Classen HS of Oklahoma City; Class 4A - Northeast Academy of Oklahoma City; Class 3A - Henryetta HS; Class 2A - Hinton HS; Class A - Pioneer HS; Class B - Granite HS & Medford HS (tie). You can find more information about the program, the State Champs and a brief history of OK Promise-OHLAP graduates for every high school in our 2005-06 Year-End Report . The end of 2006 is quickly approaching which means the end of another semester will be here soon. The holiday break would be a good time for students and parents to sit down and review transcripts against the OK Promise-OHLAP curriculum. A good tool to help guide you along is the Curriculum Checklist . Each line represents a semester. If you fill in each line of the courses completed with the grade for that semester, it will be easier to calculate the core GPA. OK Promise-OHLAP considers two GPAs - the overall which shows up on your transcript and your core GPA that includes only the courses in the OK Promise-OHLAP core curriculum. Remember: the student and parent(s) are ultimately responsible for completing the OHLAP requirements!
